HTF Bunch Sketch

As many of you know, I collaborated with Marnodor on a highly successful picture, known as HTF Bunch.

The origins of the picture date back about a year before the digital work was released, when I decided to draw all the HTF characters into a single picture all doing something active as well as interactive with each other.

I talked with Marnodor about the possibility of him reworking the art digitally, and luckily (and to both of our fortunes) he agreed.

Here's the artists explanation of the picture:

Sniffles: The most inactive of the picture, he is simply overviewing the scene with a somewhat apathetic expression.

Mime: Climbing an invisible ladder.

Buddhist Monkey: Somewhat aggravated by Mime hovering in mid-air right beside him.

Toothy: Freezing on top of Cro-Marmot's ice cube.

Russell: Putting on a hardy pirate expression, for no apparent reason.

Disco-Bear: Raising his hand in protest to what he believes to be bad dancing by Lifty and Shifty. This was later changed in the digital work to doing a dancing pose himself.

Lifty and Shifty: Dancing merrily beside each other.

Cro-Marmot: Chilling.

Splendid: Flying through the air, looking downwards at Nutty, clearly annoyed that he is trying to jump up at him. All the while, not looking where he is going, which is a collision course with Cub.

Pop and Cub: Happily bonding as father and son, Pop cheerfully throws his Son into the air, unbeknownst to him a certain superhero hasn't got his eyes on where he is going.

Giggles: Aptly giggling to herself as she see's Handy's ultility belt fall down. Changed in the digital version slightly, with a more nervous giggle.

Handy: Sports his signature look of frustration because his belt has fallen and cannot pick it up.

Nutty: Enthusiastically jumping upward toward Splendid, trying to catch him as he flies through the air.

Lumpy: Seemingly in a world of his own, but not for long as Flaky slowly backs into him. This was changed in the digital version, with Lumpy already impaled, I was supposed to draw space inbetween the two, but I didn't want to redraw the characters.

Flaky: Slowly backing away timidly from a somewhat unhappy Petunia.

Petunia: Her tail is pincushoned by a few of Flaky's quills. Makes you wonder how intimate the two were getting for that to happen. She is simply annoyed with the aftermath of the moment, having messed her tail up a bit. Changed slightly in the digital version, the quill in Petunia's flower was removed.

Cuddles: Screaming in surprise and agony as he has fallen down, struck by a knife in the leg by Flippy.

Flippy: Popping out of a concealed hole to stab an unsuspecting Cuddles. Changed in the digital version to army crawling rather than popping out of a hole.

Mole: Completely ignoring everyone around him, the Mole walks on.
